This is quite an abstract subject. The author has explained abstract subject with concepts as background. However it is written in a way that makes whole reading very boring. Examples used are not tangible, they confuse the subject more. For instance using variables like data, observable that mean nothing. In some places too many details are provided. In some places the concepts that going to be used for explanation are not explained prior to explaining them. I don't think the author had any inclination towards making the reading enjoyable.
